4 pretty fair riders waiting for the 1 lap time trial to determine starting position: from bottom, (31) Mike
Lafferty, (101) David Knight, (6) Geoff Aaron and (49) Guy Cooper.
My son Connor and I checking out the Team KTM pit area. The  (31) is Mike Lafferty's bike  and (49) is Guy
Cooper's. As an OSU fan, all that orange makes me happy.
Maxxis Endurocross  Championship        Guthrie, OK   October 6, 2007

I took my family to check out the 2nd stop of the Maxxis Endurocross Championship.  This was a really cool
event and it really must be seen to be appreciated. The skill level of these riders is tremendous and they
make it look easy but it most definitely is not. The course had some sick obstacles and even the best were
challenged. I was very impressed with how nice, friendly and approachable all the riders were.  Happy to
chat a little and smile while signing autographs for my son. I was a little disappointed with the crowd turnout
but those present were treated to some great racing. We all hope it comes back again next year!
Nick Brozovich has a little trouble with the water/log crossing. The riders all commented that the water was
deeper than last week's race in Denver and it proved to be a challenge to cross over unscathed.

<----- Connor with Ty Davis of Zip Ty Racing
Yamaha. A very skilled rider who also makes
some of the coolest off road gear too!
World Champion David Knight signs
Connor's shirt before racing to the
evening's 1st place podium.  He was a
REALLY nice guy and we are all big fans
now.          -------------------->
My son Connor, standing next to the very cool Christini 2 wheel drive Honda. Notice the front wheel drive
chain enclosed in the red oval shaped cover and the twin drive shafts that run along the front of the forks.
Nick Brozovich was very fast when he wasn't swimming. Here he is leading World Champ David Knight (101)
and Destry Abbott (11) to the water obstacle.
The water obstacle was pretty tough. If you make it over ok the first time, you get to make a hard left turn
and then try it again.  The other toughest test was the boulder pile (see the upper left corner) just about
every lap somebody would bite it HARD crossing the rocks and then they, and their bike, get used for
traction.
David Knight (101) proved to be the class of the field grinding out the overall win. Knight has been nearly
unbeatable the last couple of years winning back-to-back FIM World Enduro Championships including going
undefeated in 2006. He also won the overall at the 2005 ISDE. He is probably the favorite to take the
Endurocross overall championship this year and he is in the title mix for the GNCC as well.  Dude can
ride.......
